The Story Stays The Same

 

‘Baby Born in Bustling Bethlehem Town.’

It’s a headline that wouldn’t grab too much attraction normally, but this baby wasn’t average. He did make the headlines and then some; in fact he had the whole worlds attention.

His parents (who we know as Mary and Joseph) arrived into Bethlehem not wanting to create a scene and at 8 and a half months pregnant Mary just wanted somewhere to bed down for the night. The town however was fully booked, there was literally nowhere to stay so they pull a favour and end up with a dusty, dirty stable.

Dubbed ‘a story of hope’ their iconic plight grabbed the worlds attention. Once the baby was born the rich, famous and religious leaders headed to the middle east to congratulate the new parents.

With fighting sparking all over the place the family were forced to run for the border, to Egypt.

This remains a story of hope amidst the chaos of the middle east, one person called the child’s birth ‘a ray of light in a part of the world that has seen darkness for far too long.

And whether it’s the year 0000 AD or 2011, it doesn’t matter, the story stays the same!
