Joseph’s story doesn’t feature very much in the Bible, ok so he wasn’t the biological father of Jesus and he didn’t exactly give birth but he still had an important role to play in the story!
Joseph was ridiculed by his friends and neighbours, rejected by society and given a rough time. But he could have chosen to abandon Mary and call her crazy for seeing an angel and accuse of her sleeping around-but he didn’t. Joseph stuck by her, remained faithful and supported her, he was the earthly father figure God needed to support Mary.
When trouble comes and you’re stuck between and rock and hard place what choices do you make? Do you stay strong to the end or wimp out ASAP? It’s hard choices like this that Joseph was forced to make and situations like this that Jesus was born into.
God used the unlikely, God used Joseph, He can use you too.
