The Christmas Story

 

How do you view the Christmas story? This video shows how Mary and Joseph felt-in ALL its reality!

It was hot, very hot in fact and Mary had to tell Joseph (her fiancé) she has pregnant and it wasn’t his child she was having! In those days the punishment for this was stoning… to death. Hmmm. To make things better she was told by an angel. Who’s gonna believe that? Hard or what?

So then this pregnant, hot, ‘heavy’, young girl accused of sleeping around has to travel 65 miles to go to Bethlehem from Nazareth – check out the googlemaps directions here. It’s a loooong way, but don’t forget it’s really hot and she’s not just carrying any old baby-it’s Jesus, the Son of God!

So after a while they arrive in Bethlehem and there’s no where for them stay, they eventually find somewhere, and amongst the dried grass, pooh, animals and mess Mary gives birth. No clean towels, pain relief or midwives to be seen.

Later some shepherds and wise men arrive, they brought gifts and it was all a bit weird at first but then they had a party! Well I hope so at least…

This is how Jesus, the Son of God, the saviour came into this world.
